My pastor recently spoke at his wife’s memorial service. He shared that she had told him, “I want Jesus lifted up at my funeral. Be sure they know how to find Him.” Those words have gone over and over in my mind this week.
Do you know how to find Him? Think about it. Sure you live in the United States where there is a church on every corner and an evangelist on every television station. But again, do you know how to find Him?
Jeremiah 29:13 (NASB) says, “You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.” Head knowledge is not “finding Him.” Church attendance is not “finding Him.” Just living a “good” life is not “finding Him.” And serving in the church is not “finding Him.” In John 14:6 (NIV) Jesus tells us, ” I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
Do you want to find Him? Then search for Him with all your heart. You will find Him waiting, with open arms of love – waiting to be your Savior.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16 (KJV).
What a lovely message! Yes! I can never stop looking for HIM everywhere! HE is forever in my heart and mind!
