His Steadfast Love

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.  Lamentations 3:22-23 (ESV)

None of us really know what is going on in the world right now.  We all have our opinions and ideas, but only God truly sees the whole picture—and knows the outcome.  Yet, one thing I do know is that we can trust in His steadfast love, regardless of how shifting the sands of time seem to be.

Whenever I come across a scripture that refers to God’s unfailing and steadfast love (and there are many throughout the Bible), I take notice and hold onto the security of knowing that His love for me is strong and unwavering.  This kind of love is enough to take us through unsettling times!  It is enough to give us peace and hope as we find ourselves right in the middle of the storm.  None of us have all the answers to the problems of the world, the plagues, or the unrest and turmoil all around us, but this one thing I know—my heavenly Father’s steadfast love is there to greet me each morning when I awake.

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good,

for his steadfast love endures forever.

Give thanks to the God of gods,

for his steadfast love endures forever.

Give thanks to the Lord of lords,

for his steadfast love endures forever;

to him who alone does great wonders,

for his steadfast love endures forever.

to him who by understanding made the heavens,

for his steadfast love endures forever;

to him who spread out the earth above the waters,

for his steadfast love endures forever;

to him who made the great lights,

for his steadfast love endures forever;

the sun to rule over the day,

for his steadfast love endures forever;

the moon and stars to rule over the night,

for his steadfast love endures forever;

Give thanks to the God of heaven,

for his steadfast love endures forever.

Psalm 136: 1-9,26
