Have you ever experienced a situation where you were in over your head, couldn’t see your way clear, and faced resistance on every hand? Then – God showed up!
When you knew it, deep in your soul, that it wasn’t just a coincidence. It was a “God” thing.
This has happened to me numerous times in my life and I experienced it again recently. I texted my close friend, “Oh my, we just experienced a “God” thing,” as I proceeded to tell her the details of God’s intervention.
It was so clear, so relevant to our needs that it couldn’t be confused with mere chance. It involved us trying to help a loved one but coming up against obstacles and restraints that left us praying for God’s help.
My husband and I both felt goosebumps as we were aware of God’s care and preciseness in meeting the need at hand.
Earlier today I read about seeking God’s purposes rather than pursuing our own plans. We can plan so many things, but it is God who controls the outcome.
God’s Word tells us, Come now you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, and spend a year there and engage in business and make a profit.” You do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. Instead, you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and also do this or that.” But as it is, you boast in your arrogance; all such boasting is evil. James 4:13-16 (NASB).
Sometimes we plan God right out of our lives without giving Him room to interrupt our plans. But as we come to the end of ourselves and invite Him to be a part of the process – He shows up!
And we receive the blessing of His active and loving participation in our lives.
