For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Mark 8:36 (KJV)
As I watch our young people grow up, make their plans, and follow their dreams, everything within me wants to say it loud enough for them to truly hear—THERE IS MORE!
Yes, their success is commendable. Their talents and gifts are absolutely stunning!
And yet, many are empty. “But they don’t look empty,” you may say. “They have friends, a social life, cars, and stylish clothes.”
They may even have smiles on their faces—because these things satisfy—for a season.
But there is more. Many of our young people don’t realize what they are missing. They haven’t seen it modeled. So how can they seek after something they don’t even know exists?
My prayer is that we, as parents grandparents, aunts, and uncles, will be able to impart the truth to those growing up in our families—the truth that, through Jesus Christ, they can have a relevant, vibrant, and personal relationship with their Creator.
This truth is simple, yet it eludes many. It is powerful, but some give it no significance.
My prayer is that our young people will see this truth lived out in our own lives as they discover that—THERE IS MORE!
