Miracles Are Everywhere

You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples.  Psalm 77:14

I was deeply touched by the movie I saw recently…Miracles From Heaven.  As I was driving to the theatre I was thinking, “Miracles are all around us”.  Actually, they’re everywhere.

The family in the movie had experienced the beautiful miracle of their young daughter being healed by God of a medically incurable disease.  In the end, the girl’s mother came to the conclusion that miracles are everywhere.

If we aren’t living our lives in awe of the daily miracles all around us, we are truly missing out.  Missing out on living a joyful, thankful, and blessed life!

Tears came to my eyes several times during the movie as I watched a mother struggle with her faith and with the pain of watching her child suffer.  She couldn’t understand God’s purposes in allowing her family to go through this storm.

Yet, in the end, so many lives were touched and people saw God’s hand at work.  Miracles took place all around, before the child ever received her physical healing.

A miracle is defined as something that cannot be explained by the natural laws of our world.  But I see even those laws of nature as a miracle.

Look around you.  What do you see?

I saw a magnificent sunset all across the sky as I was driving home this evening.  Was that not a miracle?

Does the fact that it happens every day make it any less of a miracle?  I think not.

How about the people we see every day?  Aren’t we all really a miracle when you think about it?

It’s easy to be in awe of a miracle that transcends our human reasoning, yet we pass by many everyday without giving them a second thought.  We are missing out….caught up in our busy lives, our worry, and our apathy.

I pray that God will help us to slow down and open our eyes to see His miracles.  They’re everywhere!
